The visuality of the inlaid book refers us to the moment of transfer of information from one medium to another. Previously, the carrier of information was a person, then the book partially replaced his memory, at the moment there is a similar tectonic shift in the structure of information carriers. Paper gives way to digital. We are at the beginning of this process, not much time has passed since the computer occupied the whole room, now we are still dealing with a lot of wires, but the technology aims to maximally reduce the physical presence. And this process will quickly make the present archaic.
